Matthew Fuller (UK)
A presentation on the forthcoming book, Evil Media by Matthew Fuller and Andrew Goffey. Inspired by Nicolo Machiavelli's The Prince, Evil Media presents a set of stratagems for contemporary media power. Ranging from a discussion of sorting algorithms, flirting tips, queuing systems and middle management, to analyses of brainwashing and the literary techniques of spies, it provides a means of operating on the grey media that determine much of everyday culture. The presentation focused on the idea of grey media and the 'evil' that allows for a certain play between logical systems and other forms of life.
